It can help you and your friends improve your understanding of issues that relate to your mental health; from managing relationship break-ups and family disputes, or illnesses such as depression and anxiety. Everyone's life has ups and downs, and with C2G's help Inspire will be able to continue to develop ReachOut.com so that it reaches all young Australians, and helps them feel happy. Reach Out is directly informed by a comprehensive youth participation program involving a Youth Advisory Board, Youth Ambassadors, Youth Leaders and Interns who play a central role in the design, development and marketing of the service. Musicians Making A Difference is a charity that utilizes music and the music industry to engage, educate and empower severely disadvantaged young people. Our aim is to break the cycle of crime and drug use seen in juvenile offenders and homeless youth by using music as a medium to build self esteem, personal relationships and a sense of community. In the last 12 months, MMAD has run 470 music camps, community events and music mentoring sessions, around Australia. Our target for 2010 is 760 activities. With C2G's help, MMAD will consolidate its recent growth and develop strategies to increase our services to a wider target audience. Our medium term target is to run 1000 activities across Australia reaching an audience of 20,000 individuals. Our focus will continue to be disadvantaged teenagers, juvenile offenders and homeless youth. Â
Youth Off The Streets is a community organisation working for young people aged 12 to 21 who facing challenges including disconnection, homelessness, drug dependency, exclusion from school, neglect and abuse. We provide a range of services to support these young people as they work to turn their lives around. Opening in 1991, Youth Off The Streets has grown from a single food van delivering meals to young homeless people on the streets of Kings Cross to a major youth specific agency providing a wide range of services offering a full continuum of care. We provide crisis care for young people still living on the streets, as well as outreach programs delivered within their own communities. Some of the other programs Youth Off The Streets operate include drug and alcohol education, Aboriginal services, residential rehabilitation, Aftercare, Mentoring, and four independent high schools, helping a growing number of students achieve their School Certificate and Higher School Certificate. Youth Off The Streets also runs the GetReel drug prevention program, implemented through schools nationally, and a national Scholarship program, to help talented yet disadvantaged young people achieve their vocational goals. It is our goal that all young people in our programs leave equipped with the tools to live drug-free, with a high school education, independent living skills, and the ability to find and maintain employment. Â
KidsXpress is a dynamic program for children 4-14yrs who have faced challenges, loss and or trauma in their lives. During the KidsXpress program kids are finding ways to cope with their situation through music, art and drama therapies, providing kids with the foundation to learn positive coping mechanisms for life. At KidsXpress children are finding their voice making meaningful music, healing through colour in art, exploding energy through paint throwing & acting out life in drama. KidsXpress is empowering children to believe in themselves, because every child has the right to believe they can be amazing. C2G will help us put more children and families in need through our program, impacting on society at all levels. Funds from C2G could potentially result in the start of our national roll out which would mean KidsXpress centres in every state across Australia and regional community partnerships. It.s about creating a better life for our kids & their families where people know how to express themselves in a healthy productive way.
